Meet the members of the CoPE Lab team!
Blair Wisco is an associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the director of the Cognitive, Psychopathology, and Emotion (CoPE) lab. Her research focuses on cognitive biases and emotion regulation processes in emotional disorders, particularly depression and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Graduate Students
Shae Nester
Shae is a fourth-year graduate student in UNCG's clinical psychology program. They graduated with their B.S. in Psychology from Liberty University in 2019 and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Towson University in 2021. Broadly, they are interested in trauma, dissociation, and trauma-related emotions, cognitions, and physiological reactivity. They are also interested in using experience sampling designs and idiographic methods.

Emily Heinlein
Emily is a third-year graduate student. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Gender and Women’s Studies from University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2018 and worked as a research assistant for several years at University of Maryland Baltimore in the Department of Psychiatric Services Research. Emily’s research interests include guilt and shame in the context of trauma, social interaction and isolation effects of PTSD, and support systems for survivors of intimate partner violence.

Aly Lopez
Aly is a third-year graduate student. She graduated with her B.A. from UCLA in 2021. Broadly, she is interested in examining suicide-related behavior and its physiological correlates in individuals with trauma histories.

Undergraduate and Post-bacc Research Assistants
Camden Gaddy
Camden is a junior undergraduate at UNC Greensboro, and serves as the lead RA in the CoPE Lab. She joined the lab in Fall 2023 to gain a greater understanding of her specific interests in psychology, while also gaining experience to eventually apply for graduate school to get a master's degree in clinical psychology. Camden enjoys crocheting, caring for her rats, writing about television shows, drawing, and fashion/cosmetology.

Cassius Dinger
Cassius Dinger is an undergraduate research assistant in the CoPE Lab at UNCG. He is a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminology with the goal of becoming a Forensic Psychologist. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, hanging out with friends, and reading.

Misbah Chhotani
Misbah Chhotani is an undergraduate research assistant in the CoPE Lab at UNCG. They are a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with the goal of becoming an occupational therapist. Their research interests include mental health, cognitive processes, and how emotional experiences shape behavior. In their free time, they enjoy going to concerts, spending time with friends and family, gaming, and reading.

Giovanna Ferreira
